I second J\'s comment below. I use Thunderbird to manage email from 3 different accounts with a set of filters that is common to all accounts. I would like to be able to say a filter set is \"Common\" instead of applying to XXX@gmail.com and YYY@ZZZ.com etc.

Don\'t know if you did the autopager add-in for FF that is advertised on this page but it is terrific, if you did that one too, thank you.

Hi Mark
This may need thunderbird to support. You can submit a request for thunderbird at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/.
If you use all the same filters for all the accounts then you can try this addon to export and import the filters to sync up the filters.

Yes. I made it.
Thanks

Idea like \"Kolab\"

Whats about this Idea: Add an option to store the filter not as file but as IMAP-Message in an IMAP-Folder (like for example SyncKolab does it when syncronizing Adresses)?

So it would be possible to Sync folders on different machines if they are connected to the same IMAP-Account

Good idea. I am thinking about this too. But I hadn\'t able to find time to look at it.
Thanks for referring SyncKolab. I will have a look at it and find out how to implement the functions.

Thunderbird Filter Expert/Import installation prob

Hi,

The extension installed fine on my XP laptop. But on my Vista desktop, Thunderbird extension installer says \"waiting\" and nothing happens. The main reason for my interest in it is to export from my laptop all the filter settings to my new Vista machine, so this is a disappointment. Any help will be appreciated.

The Thunderbird version on my Vista desktop is 2.0.0.21.

It was a great extension. Then this morning I upgraded and suddenly every time I open Thunderbird, your extension opens a browser window to your site.

It might as well be fu**ing spyware....

Can\'t import filters to TB 3.0

Hi,

I installed the extension on Thunderbird 2 and have successfully exported filters of "local folders" (which are the only filters I have). I can read the exported file and it seems OK. I then upgraded to TB 3.0 (the official new release)and have naturally lost all the filters.

I tried to import the filters: Tools -> import filters. I chose "Local Folders", and got to the window: "import message filters from a file" where I chose the "filters" (exported) file. I got the message "Import Finished. Do you want to restart your Mozilla/Thunderbird now?". I clicked OK, TB restarted, but no filters were available.

Any idea what went wrong?

Could you please try this?
1. In thunderbird addons, try to check update for the addons, update them if there are updates.
2. Try to create some filters before import the filters.
3. Fully restart Thunderbird. Use your task manager to kill any thunderbird threads if there are.

Let us know if that doesn\'t work.

Thanks

I think I found a \"bug\" ... with Thunderbird 3.

If you are in say account ABC and say import filters. It comes up with a little popup window showing a drop-down box showing \"ABC\" with an [Import] button beside it. If you just click [Import] it seems to import into \"Local Folders\". If you click the drop-down and select \"ABC\" and then click import, it imports into \"ABC\". Took me a good few hours to get it right.
