I'll probably be turning this feature off unless I decide I like having a quick link to SurfCanyon. But I was glad to see surfcanyon again after having used them briefly a few months ago.
However- the feature is a bit difficult to figure out how to turn off and I was initially upset to realize it was going on at all. Being sent to a different search engine than Google is kind of a red flag.

I really didn't like finding links to some site I'd never heard of, attached to my google searches. As an opt-in sort of thing that would be fine, of course.
I included autopager as an add-on to do auto-paging. That's all I wanted it to do, and all I would have ever wanted it to do. Adding it didn't mean giving you permission to redirect me to whatever search site you happen to be affiliated with.
Then I had to figure out how to disable it, which could have been easier.
Then just to tell you I didn't care to have this sort of thing thrown in there without my approval required creating an account just to post this.
Kind of obnoxious. And hard to figure out, unless you're getting a kickback from referrals to surfwhatever for links that list you as the referer. If you're getting a kickback for those referrals then it's extremely obnoxious, on a par with tossing in banner ads.
And that's it, isn't it? You don't come ...

Well, I guess that's it for Auto Pager. Rewriting my google results to send me to some random 3rd party site? WTF? Maybe if this were an off by default option, but as standard behavior?
I was a big fan of this addon, but as dranorter noted this is a huge red flag. Avoid like the plague from now on.

It will not send you to the random 3rd party site. It will send you to a search result powered by Surf Canyon when you click on the words it suggested.

I basically agree with dranorter here, except that I didn't find it too difficult to turn the new feature off - I have virtually ignored those links for a few weeks now, but I don't think that I'd ever need them and also I didn't expect AutoPager to include anything like this.
Guess I'll try AP Lite as well.

Just writing to say that after discovering this "feature" I will be removing this addon. I thought I was installing an extension to auto load paginated websites, not an extension to send my search queries to some random 3rd party without ever asking me if that is alright.
I don't really care why you added this, or who came up with the bright idea, but I will never use this software, or its company again. I will also go out of my way to help protect my friends from these nefarious practices, making sure none of them ever use your products either.
If you are willing to add code to send my search results off, and be as bold as to let me see it, what other crap do you have hiding in there that we can't see?

This is a good extension, but this is a bad step, this is not what I wanted when I downloaded this, so it must not be.
If you need money (we all do) then ask for donation like everyone else or ask for installing this shit when you install the extension.

Yes. You are right.
This was already deleted from the extension.
Thanks
